EDI Module Maintenance: Resin Replacement
1. Safety & Prep

Wear PPE: gloves, goggles

Shut off power/water, drain module
-
Have new resin, tools, containers ready
2. Remove Old Resin
-
Disconnect pipes/wires (label first)
-
Unbolt end plates carefully
-
Pour out old resin into waste container
-
Rinse chambers with DI water
3. Add New Resin
-
Mix new resin with DI water to make slurry
-
Use funnel to fill each chamber completely
-
Tap gently to remove air pockets
-
Clean seal surfaces
4. Reassemble
-
Install new O-rings (lightly lubricate)
-
Rebolt end plates evenly (follow torque specs)
-
Reconnect all pipes and wires
5. Restart & Check
-
Flush with water to remove air
-
Power on gradually
-
Monitor for leaks
-
Check water quality reaches >15 MΩ·cm
Key Tips:

Work cleanly, avoid contamination
-
Follow manufacturer torque values
-
Document resin lot number and date
-
Investigate cause of resin failure
Time: 4-6 hours
Frequency: Every 2-5 years, or when quality drops
