EDI Module Maintenance: Resin Replacement

1. Safety & Prep

• Wear PPE: gloves, goggles

• Shut off power/water, drain module

• Have new resin, tools, containers ready

2. Remove Old Resin

• Disconnect pipes/wires (label first)

• Unbolt end plates carefully

• Pour out old resin into waste container

• Rinse chambers with DI water

3. Add New Resin

• Mix new resin with DI water to make slurry

• Use funnel to fill each chamber completely

• Tap gently to remove air pockets

• Clean seal surfaces

4. Reassemble

• Install new O-rings (lightly lubricate)

• Rebolt end plates evenly (follow torque specs)

• Reconnect all pipes and wires

5. Restart & Check

• Flush with water to remove air

• Power on gradually

• Monitor for leaks

• Check water quality reaches >15 MΩ·cm

Key Tips:

• Work cleanly, avoid contamination

• Follow manufacturer torque values

• Document resin lot number and date

• Investigate cause of resin failure
